Last year, I heard the term “retail fundraising” for the first time - organizations that collect $1 or $2 through retail locations, such as banks (that would then display your name on a paper balloon or teddy bear), or adding a dollar or two at the supermarket checkout to fund the local foodbank. Some organizations (even national ones) use this funding model.
